Welcome to Hmong Creations!

Welcome to Hmong Creations
Welcome to my blog where I will share things I love with you!

Spring 2017

My name is Pangnya. I am the founder of Hmong Creations.  I have 2 adorable children who are 3 and 2 years old.  I currently live in the beautiful city of Madison, WI but was born and raised in Wausau, WI. In 2012, I graduated from University of Wisconsin Madison with my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. After graduating I started the Nurse Residency program at UW Hospital where I currently work in the operating room as a circulator and scrub.  I have been living in Madison ever since and have enjoyed it here! If you ever plan to visit Madison or move here I would highly recommend it.  There is so much to do here especially things to do with the kids.  Just to name a few of my favorites there is Henry Vilas Zoo that is FREE, Hmong Legacy Market for those Hmong tournament food cravings, Mad City Boiler where you can get yummy SEAFOOD boil dishes to go, Nam's Noodle where you get delivered PHO. If you'd like me to write more about the things I love doing in Madison please comment below.

BSN Class of 2012.  We did it!
Growing up I wanted to be a counselor/advisor.  I wanted to be the resource person for others, share my knowledge, and give others guidance.  I love sharing my creativity and ideas with others.  I love sharing tips and pretty much anything that can help make you the best you! Creating my shop has given me the platform to share some things I love with you!

UW Health Nurse Residency Class 2012
When I graduated in May 2012 I started my job immediately in June 2012.  That gave me zero time to take a vacation or take a breather.  Most nurses would feel the same that once you graduate you still are not done. There is the NCLEX a certification exam you must pass in order to work as an RN.  Working so soon I had to apply for other temporary certifications until I became officially licensed.  I can write about that experience on another note.  5 years flew by so fast. Once I had my children I realized life is too short why not do something I've always wanted to do!   I have a good feeling about next year 2019 and where I am headed.  There are many things that will be changing and new adventures that are coming and it makes me excited and so nervous! Once I settled in a little bit I found I had some energy left to open up my shop Hmongcreations.etsy.com

"new adventures that are coming "

In August 2016, it all started with a simple bow tie I made for my son. I was in search of something modern but also something that represented the Hmong culture. The bow tie and the attached spirit soul lock was exactly what I was looking for: simple, elegant, and chic. You can say this is my signature creation NEVER seen before and were it all started. After that, people started to ask me where I bought the bow tie which gave me the courage to open up my Etsy shop Hmongcreations.etsy.com

Hmong Creations hopes to bring modern and traditional items to you.  Everything I post of my page I make sure its something I would love to receive as a gift.  Everything is Hmong inspired.  I hope when you look at my shop and items they will remind you of Hmong.  I think its a great way to be reminded of the Hmong culture having it incorporated into more modern items as well as share with others who do not know who or what Hmong is.  If I could I would wear traditional Hmong clothes everyday but in this 100 degree weather I'll save them for special days.  It gives me great pleasure being able to wear and have other items displayed around my house showing my culture.  I am proud to be Hmong and by bringing you more modern and practical Hmong inspired items to share with others I hope you can share with them how too how proud you are to be Hmong.

" THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!"

Never in a million years did I ever think I would have over 7,000 followers and supporters on Hmong Creations on Facebook! I still can't believe it. I wish I could personally thank each and everyone of you! If it weren't for all of your support and kindness my shop would not be running. I have so many ideas I want to share and I am so happy that I have gotten such amazing support.

My advice to you is whether it's today or tomorrow or a year from now, if you have something that you want to pursue, just go for it. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE. Not everyone will love it or support you, but you will be surprised as to how many WILL love what you do and encourage you to keep going.
